Hi! Would you share your recipe for the brownies please? It looks wonderful!

But of course, lovely! It’s so easy that I’ve got it memorized :)

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup nut butter (I used peanut butter because I was feelin’ some peanut butter brownies, but you can use any kind)
2 cups grated zucchini
1 cup chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate chunks
1/2 cup agave (I used light since peanut butter is sweet compared to other nut butters)
1 tbsp ground flax seed + 3 tbsp water (mix together and set aside for a bit to gel up)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
Chopped raw walnuts
* Coconut or almond flour

DIRECTIONS:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2) Combine all of the ingredients.
3) Pour batter into a greased pan.
4) Sprinkle walnuts on top of the batter.
5) Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until fork/toothpick comes out clean.

* I used some flour to soak up the liquid from the grated zucchini and agave, and to give the brownies more texture- they turned out fabulous! I used maybe 3 - 5 tbsp? It’s optional and totally up to you. I also sprinkled additional chocolate pieces on top with the walnuts.

Sooooo good with some almond milk and I’m gonna go eat some right now :D Happy vegan baking!

10:48 PM POST

1) I don’t know where all you beautiful new followers are coming from, but heyyyy…thank you :)

2) People can be so offended by sex and nudity posts…why? Sex is basically the most natural thing (besides breathing). Embrace your sexuality!

3) That being said, my hormones have been on fiyyaahhh!

4) PLL in about an hour on the ABC app!

5) Eeek. Excited for the Color Run this weekend!

6) So I’m going to this orienteering thing tomorrow after work. It’s like a scavenger hunt in the woods and a compass is used. Urmm…wish me luck? Om Namah Shivaya!

7) Be kind to yourself in your practice, never pushing or forcing yourself through fatigue.
8) I miss Jay.

9) I changed it up some and decided to put honey mustard dressing on my salad instead of my usual olive oil and balsamic vinegar deal. I found it quite yummy.

10) Obsessed with dōTERRA Essential Oils! I currently have lavender, cinnamon, melaleuca, frankincense, wild orange, and a bunch of mixed oils I use for massaging people in Savasana. Say whaaaa…yeah!

11) Current craft: bridal shower invitations for my cousin! I just love making stuff.

12) Starve the ego. Feed the soul.

13) Favorite thing to do during Paschimottanasana? Use the thumbs to push each toe forward one by one. Try it…it feels good after some intense Vinyasa.

14) Seeing bright green grass makes my soul sing.
15) Fail- it’s now 11:40 AM the next day and I didn’t watch PLL because I fell asleep…
16) Lol

Namaste :) PLL TIME.

How do you feel about gluten? Raw diets?

Gluten is the devil. Okay, no…but really, personally, gluten is just bad. I have eczema and just recently, I found out that I’m allergic to gluten. Before finding out, my naturopath doctor had already told me to avoid foods with gluten just because it promotes inflammation. Recent studies show that gluten actually affects quite a number of people, and I believe they referred to it as “nonceliac gluten sensitivity.” If you’re going for a gluten-free diet, good for you. Plan to make your own food 99% of the time…it’s pretty hard to find gluten-free food in restaurants. And nobody has time for inflammation in the body! That’s pretty much all I have to say about that.

I think raw, plant-based diets are great! I certainly have nothing negative to say about raw foods. However, to some extent, I don’t believe the whole “cooking kills the all the nutrients” deal. You’ll just have to do your own research on that. I think every person needs a fresh, raw, fibrous meal as often as possible. And cooked meals are delicious! Who doesn’t like a hot somethin’ off the stove or outta the oven?!

I never diss anyone because of their diet. If you’re listening to your body and feeding it what it needs, who am I to tell you otherwise? :) Thanks for stopping by!

As I was walking out of the Walmart restroom yesterday after completing the Alaska Women’s Run, a little old lady with a cane stopped me.

“Were you a runner today?”

“I was!” I replied, delightfully.

“Thank you for running,” she said, “I was a cancer survivor…twice. I survived colon cancer and I survived breast cancer.”

So touched by this stranger’s brief story, I told her, “The two people I ran for today- my grandmother died from colon cancer and my boyfriend’s mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer.”

“Thank you for running for us…” and she carried on her way.

“Thank you for being an inspiration,” I gently said, and she turned her head to smile at me.

I don’t know who you are sweet lady, but may you live on healthily with all the strength to carry you on your journey. I am so grateful our paths were crossed.

This is but another confirmation from the Universe for me, that we are all truly connected and in one with everything. Let’s be kind to ourselves and to one another. We are, after all, just walking each other home.

“May the long time sun shine upon you,
All love surround you,
And the pure light within you,
Guide your way on.”

Namaste :)

“I’ve been practicing for more than a decade. In human years, I’m just a preteen! I’m not a Hollywood yogi and I don’t care to be. I love yoga pictures; I take them, but it’s never about aesthetics. It’s never to show off a pose, but rather to show what I love doing. Why is it that the girls with the prettiest handstands and the prettiest yoga leggings get so much attention, but we seem to just brush off the girl with a strong warrior, with a bent knee, with a modification? It’s all too Hollywood for me sometimes and I wish we’d get out of the arm-balance-handstand-worshipping craze because without starting from roots and basics, there wouldn’t be this gorgeous handstand. I wish people didn’t scale or measure their yoga abilities with it, too. It’s not just about Asana. I mean, I’m a forever student…” —Anonymous
